    The 3 amigos, They came,I saw,They left

I know this subject has been done to death but...
Today the 3 lights and chimes arrived abs/tc/hdc when sitting at the lights so I shut off engine restarted the hdc disappeared. Got back left the car a couple hours restarted the tc didnot reappear just abs on. I few hours later the abs diappeared!
What does this mean if faults are clearing themselves? I thought only testbook or similar could clear faults. Does the above narrow down what the fault may be?
I nice bloke on here has offered to reset with his namocom but I read they only work for TD5 and mine is V8 petrol?

Indeed it has been done to death in spite of Pedro's best efforts to maintain the "Good Oil" section.

So here is a link http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/3...3-amigoes.html or you could search yourself.

    Cheers

You probably have an intermittent fault being logged. The lights are then reset when you turn off the ignition until a fault appears again - they then reappear. After the fault log is cleared using a nanocom or similar the ABS light sometimes stays on until the vehicle reaches about 10kph when it goes out.

I believe a nanocom can read/reset the faults on a V8's SLABS computer and talk to the BCU to read and change settings. (same units as a TD5) It can't however talk to the V8 engine ECU.

Send me a PM with your number and I'll call you.

    Didn't work when I tried a Nanocom with my V8 D2.
You'll need the Beacrmach unit thingy-ma-bob (sorry can't remember what it's clled - too many lunchtime refreshments!).
The Nanocom wouldn't even "see" the V8, let alone reset anything.
Similarly, my generic OBD-II reader won't recognise any TD5 D2.

Will be interested to hear how you go....

    Cheers,

Had the same Nanocom SLABS drama in my V8 D2, but all solved when I did this:

    See Panya's post.

    Thumbs up

Thanks to gazk his nanocom read my V8 slsabs ecu and bcu no problems, the nanocom seemed to think about it at first but then no problemo. Obvouisly it didnt read my engine ecu.
Found 246 or so intermintent RF wheel sensor errors, reset and cleared. I will check the abs sensor connections first.
    Thanks again

    Cheers,
After some strange initial messages on the Nanocon then disconnecting and reconnecting we managed to communicate with Northiam's SLABS computer and read then clear the logged right front sensor fault. Three amigos were not present before clearing the logged fault and didn't appear on a short test drive where we exercised the ABS and TC which is working fine. Could also read the BCU settings etc. Using Old version Nanocon with USB (Didn't need to pull the yellow plug on the SLABS to communicate.)
