Thumbs up Water leaking in through vents

Underneath the vehcile on both sides of the gearbox on each side of tunnel there are drain pipes. Remove the ends and cut about 2mm from the end of the opening points with sidecutters this helps to keep dust from turning to mud and blocking drains. Also when it is raining heavy the owners manual states that turning on the cabin recirculation by pushing and holding the button until two audible beeps are heard this will shut and seal the vents stopping water from entering the plenum chamber inside cab. Dunno it worked for me. Cheers.

Ok old post revitalized. ..I had a few drips today in passenger side footwel in heavy rain while driving. . Mine has had a new heater matix and ac drain tubes are free and drain properly. I have just noticed a plenum chamber cover crack right down the middle...can that let water in?

    Cheers

Check the blanking plate where it is for a wiper motor if you had a left hand drive vehicle, it can enter there

Yep, the rubber shrinks with age.On real heavy downpours where the small tray drain hole cant cope with volume and if the water level gets up to the height of the wiper motor blanking rubber membrane it dribbles down to the inside via ventilation.

Found one of the rubber winglets down the bottom had come away a few mm too...nothing some black marine adhesive silicone cant fix...all done. The price f a new cover and wings is hideous.

    Cheers
