    HEY -CLEAN YOUR MAF!

So I've been going to clean my MAF for a while now - just because.
Today I bought a can of CRC MAF cleaner and did it, took 10 minutes.

Took it for a spin and holy crap!!! It was like driving a different car. Throttle response was awesome, the power came on instantly and strong. I don't know if I was imagining it but I felt the gear shifts (auto) were more seamless as well.

For $20, it was the best money I've spent on the Disco in ages.

If you haven't done yours or it's been a while, DO IT. Do it now. What are you waiting for?!!!

    Hi Mattyg,
How dirty was it?,since its only just down stream from the air filter, where does the dirt come from?,or is it a build up of very fine particles?.Mines been a bit lazy of late, have never cleaned mine since I replaced it about 3 years ago, maybe thats the cause?
    Cheers Gregg

Bought it at supercheap. It's probably just the same stuff as electrical contact cleaner.

I didn't notice the MAF to be dirty but to be honest I didn't really take much notice.

The can says to give 10 or so sprays to both the protruding part and the flat plate. It also recommends to do this at every air filter change, and says you should get a minimum 4 hp gain.

The air cleaner box in the D2 isn't real good, wipe your clean fingers on the inside of the lid & you will see what i mean.It seems some air will always bypass the filter

Cleaned my MAF last week and yep "HOLY CRAP" definite increase in power and the gear changes now silky smooth from the auto.

Gave it a good long squirt from all sides from the can of MAF cleaner as per the directions.

Will now do it every 20k with the air filter.

    DO IT, DO IT NOW!
    (apologies to Arnie!)

Sometimes it works and other times it doesnt. MAF's are sensitive. I found it worked for me on occasion but when a new one was installed it made a huge difference. Unfotunately they degrade with (not much) time.

    Cheers
