D1 starter motor and alternator into a D2?

My starter motor is on the way out and my alternator sounds like it got a little too much mud in it on the last trip...

New ones are expensive!! Hence I had a look around for second hand parts and have come across a great deal on both items out of a D1 V8. So my question is does anyone know if they will fit into my 1999 D2 V8?

The starter should be the same. Dunno about the alternator, but definitely not the old vee belt version (pre '95).

Yep the alternator from the 3.5L V8 was only 65Amp so no good. The 3.9 is 100 Amp which should be ok.

Nevermind, found the specs for D2 in my Rave CDROM and the D1 specs in my old Haynes manual.
    Alternators, D1 is 100amp (although had 65 and 80 amp in some D1s); D2 requires 130Amp!
Starter motors are different models also.
