I don't mind admitting I really enjoy driving the D2a, which I do every day, but for a really comfortable and much more powerful vehicle the D3 is a much nicer bit of kit and for a serious off roader the modified D1 puts many more smiles on my face then the D2a ever could.
The one thing the D2a is better at then either the D3 or the D1, apart from having ACE, is it has much more comfortable seats. ....and of course nicer looking headlights :D
