Question is this my radio/cd security 'card' ??

    hi all,
i've been going through my landrover books and on the inside of the service portfolio I have a very small thin rounded rectangular "tag" with 4 digits stamped onto it (stuck with sticky tape to the inside cover). Just wondering whether this is the security pin for the radio/cd player??

The in-car entertainment manual refers to a 4 digit pin on a 'card'...

what did everyone else receive their D2 radio/cd player security pin on - something the same or not?

The CD player has died at a very inconvenient time and my sergei rachmaninoff CD is stuck in there (I think the cd player is naffed as nothing I press is making it eject)...

    Thanks,
    Lp

As long as the four digits are under the number 6 it sounds right to me.
It could also be the code to deactivate the alarm with the key in the door lock, usualy one or more of the numbers is over 6 though.
I had to ring a dealer for our radio code as there was nothing in any of the books I got with the Disco.
    Cheers, Kyle

    Hi Alien,
after typing out my reply, I’ve looked at the service book closer and see that someone has written in pencil 4 digits and 'radio' next to it after "vehicle details' in the service book. Will give that a go and see what comes of it... worst case, if that doesn't work will call the dealer directly as they are still at the same location. Just hope they give me the details assuming they have that information still on file??

    Hi Pedro!
I wouldn’t have minded so much if it was some annoying heavy metal grunge catastrophic (crapola) music – I’d have left it in there LOL :-p

Thanks for the link Nicky.... :-D

    Hi Princess...
Unless you removed a lead from the battery or blew a fuse to the radio, the stuck CD will not be a result or needing a reset code...And you know you need the code because the unit will do nothing but stare blankly back at you.
Dare I suggest that you treat like a pregant person (Wife, girlfirend, partner, whatever maybe least sexist or offensive), and you want to play golf...take it for a run on a really rough road, (any Aus freeway should do ...) and see if it (the disk) gets spat out. Stranger things happen

    Hi wopac5,
Nothing blown fuse or lead wise, maybe just a case of worn heads on the CD componentry, either way pulling the thing out and inspecting closer will hopefully tell me more.

I Got a laugh out of your 'pregnant person' comment... and yes, already gone over speed humps (only sets off the 3 amigos ) and off/up gutters and bashed the top of it a few times in my angst but the darn thing is just stuck.

If I select the 'eject' button, I can hear it spinning or attempting to eject (or laughing at me ) but nothing comes of it.... so taking the thing out is my last resort. If it just needs a clean up (as I read on the forum previously about the same said thing happening to other folks) not a problem, and not a problem either if I need to replace the thing - may just upgrade with one of those combined radio/cd/satnav thingamys.

    Cheers,
    Lp
