    CHECK YOUR OIL BOLT !!!!

    Just sitting on the side of the freeway waiting for a mate with a land cruiser to tow me home, I have been meaning to check this bolt for ages!!! but never got around to doing it people check this bolt before it catches you out!!!

    must be a TD5, as there were issues where the oil pick up tube bolt did not have thread locker applied. They fall out and no oil is flowing in motor.

    I always assumed it was the pump sprocket bolt?

    You assumed correctly.

    The V8's in the USA weren't much better, with plemty of oil pump failures recorded

    AHHH just took it all off and found that the famous BOLT BROKE what the!!!! By the looks of it, the bolt was always tight until the head of it decided to give way... How do u prevent this?

    My D2 is a TD5 and has 256000km on it
