    Front Seat Cushion Repair/Replacement

    Hi all,

I've got a 2003 TD5 auto D2a in need of a bit of TLC - the mechanical items will be pretty straightforward once I get all my tools over from the UK, and parts are pretty easy to source.

I'm having trouble fiding options for repairing the drivers seat cushion/squab cover. It's got cloth trim and it's just worn away where the previous owners have been dragging themselves in and out, all other seats are in good condition so I'm loathe to just throw them out and buy a whole set from the breakers (cost being one factor!). Does anyone know of a good trim shop in Perth that may be able to repair it or somewhere where I can order a genuine new LR cover/base - I suspect that the foam is beyond it's best after 210k kms.

    Thanks

    Rich

Mate - its a long way to travel from the UK to Perth...

I just got a quote from a very respectable re-upholsterers to re-foam and re-trim my front seats for $750 all up - that includes making the bolsters bigger on the side to be more hugging.

    Cheers

I'll watch this thread with interest as I am about to start trying to get mine repaired too. Although Perth is a tad too far for me to travel it'll be useful to compare prices and ideas.

I have a herniated disc and sciatic pain to go with it so I'm after a re-trim that adds more cushioning at the back of the seat pad to take out the dip - making the seat pad flatter in effect. I can stick a small pillow there but the trade off is that my line of sight is too close to the top of the screen and I end up looking at the headlining (6'3" tall).

I hope you get some recommendations, sorry I can't help with that.
