A costly 6 months

Not sure if the porous head is common or not (I presume uncommon, as there is not much mention of it on this forum). As it has been explained to me, the head is a sand cast item, and in some instances the sand is retained and over time washes out o the part, leaving it porous.

Have the new injector seals fixed the problem ??? No idea, the Disco has been on blocks ever since waiting for a melted air con compressor to be replaced :D:D:D:D:D
I shall report back in due course (a trip to Fraser island in 2 weeks time should be a decent test).

I have only ever seen the sand / casting problem twice before both on v6 Mitsubishi engines. Hopefully this is not common on Landrovers.

Good luck with the trip to Fraser,,,,,,make sure you keep an eye on the oil level,,,,,,oh and the coolant to when plowing through the sand. Things can get a bit warm.
