    Distance between front chassis rail and size...?

    Could one of you very kind D2 owners measure the distance between the front chassis rails, and the width of the chassis rails themselves?

    I bought a TJM winch bar for my D1 over the weekend, but now I have held it up and measured and pondered, it looks like it is close, but no cigar.

    It's 5mm out here 10mm out there , I just want to make I've not bought the wrong thing.

    It's dark out right now so no measurements I'm afraid. From previous threads I don't think the D1 bar will fit a D2. You also need to make sure it's airbag compatible for a D2 or your insurance will be shot.

    Sorry, just re-read your post. Pretty sure bars for D2 and D1 are not interchangeable due to the mounting set up being different. Not sure about the width of the chassis rails.

    Wardy, was just trying to make sure that what I had really was a bar for a D1 rather than having bought a D2 bar by mistake (was told it had come off a '98 model, which mine is!).

    If the D2 and D1 chassis are substantially different, then what I have is just slightly out of shape, and I just need to "adjust" the bar somewhat.

    I can not tell you the width of rails of the top of my head, however the distance between rails should be 630mm on a DII from memory.

    Just measured mine.

    Distance between Chassis rails = 630mm
    Height = 105mm
    Width = 80mm

    Thanks Chris.

    From what I remember, the distance between the chassis rails on my D1 was 640mm, so that would explain the 10mm.

    I'll check again when I get home.

    I think there was a question under the D2 section...somebody was looking for a D2 bar...might be worth a look for the question and contacting them...could sell it on and get your money back.
