Thread: Oil Leak

Just got back from a weekend away,, looked on the garage floor this morning,,, a couple of drops of oil. Got underneath with a torch,,, it appears the oil filter is the culprit on the right hand side, on the other side cant see much but it appears to be from around the alternator. On the back of the alternator its got quite a deposit of old caked on oil. I cant get my hands in from the top or the bottom. Any ideas what this might be. Its only a couple of drips overnight but appears to have been ongoing for a while.
Its going in for a major service monday to change all fluids, filters etc. I would like to tell the mechanic where he needs to be looking to save a few bucks.

Mine's doing exactly that around the filter (TD5) I'm gonna change the filter to see if it's just that leaking. Around the other side I think it's the rear cam seal on mine, the oil's travelling across the head/block interface and going onto the bell housing.
