I believe you can do exactly that - if it's an old/original model Nanocom (aka Nanocom 1). Try here. Registration of the product is required I believe but please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Evo 2 is basically a repackage of the Evo. I recall Colin stating that the circuit design had be kept largely the same to ensure the firmware work on both models.

The Nanocom One runs firmware that is derived from the same code base and appears to have the same diagnostic feature set as the EVO's. Obviously it lacks the code that relates to the Evo's touch display and other non-core enhancements.

So basically if you run the latest firmware on either of the Evo generations you'll have the identical functionality. The Nanocom One with 2.07 firmware has the same module coverage as the EVO's, so all you really miss out on is packaging and refinement.

    Purchase of Nanocom in Australia

    Hi,

I also would like to buy a Nanocom unit in Australia (if possible)
Can someone advise of who sells them, or do I go via external (BBS) and some DHL quarantine/import $$$ fee?

    Many thanks in advance

Definitely DO NOT use DHL, they add a processing fee for doing nothing, and threaten legal action when you challenge the validity of their additional charge. A search shows that they have been running this scam for years, and are within their legal rights to do so based on a technicality.

I had mine sent EMS which is delivered locally by Australia Post.
From memory it only took 1-2 days longer than the DHL estimated delivery time, and I incurred no additional processing charges.

    cheers
