A bad week for this '03 Disco... Started with a diesel leak - appears to be from above tank, and only when running, so organised to take it in to get the lines checked/replaced.

But today, wouldn't turn over - just clicking with the M & S lights flashing. And now the alarm will not disable - can silence only by turning the key in the driver's door, but it re-enables. And obviously won't start.

I had thought maybe the battery had gone flat after being parked for a week. But the alarm situation has thrown me. Any ideas - as it just got a lot harder to get it in to a mechanic (not so many options here in Darwin)

Ant, yes a battery will cause this, even if there is enough powerr to unlock doors etc etc there will not be to start the vehicle.

The fuel leak is possibly from the fuel supply line at the rear of the drivers side where the fuel line crosses the rear crossmember the pipe rubs through. Search on here for Td5 fuel leaks and all will be revealed.

Realised (eventually) that I had never responded and said thanks for your reply.

You were absolutely right, a replacement battery let me overcome the alarm problem and after a quick drive got the leaks fixed.
