I've heard around the place that the fluid direction through the cooler reverses when the torque converter locks up. Not sure if its one of those myths but it always seemed to come up when someone was contemplating fitting an inline filter.
Anyone know which way the automatic transmission fluid flows through the cooler?
Does it enter the cooler on the passenger side and flow through to exit on the drivers side?
Or does it enter the cooler on the drivers side and exit on the passenger side?
I'm looking to tap a second cooler in and this will help me in my decision as to which side to tape in.

I typed up a long response confirming the above, for the mechanical version of the 4HP22 anyway direct from ZF. It appears to have not submitted properly. Not retyping it.
Give A&B in Dandenong a ring and chat to them about it, they should know.

plumb it in so that the cooler with the most cooling surface is on the output side of the cooler with the smallest cooling surface when the TC is unlocked.
