The filler plug is at the back of the transfer case, straight past the outer edge of the handbrake drum, a square hole in the end of the plug. You may need a wobble bar to undo it.

This thread shouldn't be here, it should be in one of the tech forums
Hopefully a mod will move it.
Anyway, the filler for an LT230 t/case is tucked on the LHS and almost behind the park brake drum on the rear of the case. It has a recessed 1/2" square drive.
A 1/2" wobble drive extension is ideal to use to undo it, and after just perusing the instructions on the link above I would not use loctite thread locker on any filler or drain plug thread as in this instance you are screwing into an aluminium case.
Using thread locker in an aluminium housing isn't that smart an idea for something that needs to be reasonably frequently undone.
Loctite 577 thread sealer or Hylomar spray or another similar thread sealer, not thread locker is ideal IMO.
<edit> oops, Erich beat me too it. That's what i get for stuffing around instead of posting![]()
The top plug is for a temp probe on some over sea modles
Hi all can, any one tell me which one is the filler plug for the transfer case on a 2000 disco td5 auto please,it has a leak and i want to top it up.

It's on the back of the transfer case - you'll need a 1/2" square drive to unscrew it.
