    I'm hosting an Amigo's party !!!

    And they've even invited the temp gauge. When I turn the ignition off (Td5 auto) all of the warning lights light up and stay lit up (the green M and S ones blink) plus the temp gauge maintains a reading. This started happening this afternoon after I unlocked the car, opened the door and the "ignition off, headlamps on" chime started but the headlamps and park lights were off.
    Where do I start ? .

    Try the LR ctrl/alt/del function

    sit in car, drivers door closed, start it,
    then stop it, pull key out, wait a minute
    open drivers door, put key back in,
    close drivers door then restart car.

    I tried what you suggested in your first post to no avail but the Missus has been driving it since and it the problem hasn't reoccurred.

    I've had the Disco for nearly 4 years and its the same battery that was in it when I bought it. You could be on a winner there as before the gremlin appeared I had been using it for a while without the engine running to test / repair / replace the lights on my boat trailer.

    Pedro's on the money. The Missus has been racking up the miles with no complaint. I do the good samaritan thing tonight by jump starting a Pajero, got home and the Amigos (with the temp gauge in tow) were gatecrashing.
    I'm on the lookout for a battery at a nice price .
