    Disco II won't start

    Hi, recently been away for a week and when came back had to re sync my key fob to unlock the truck, got in went to start and nothing just the click. got it jump started and the M and S light flashing, didn't want to reset the limp mode as wasn't at my house so drove home in limp mode and put the battery on charge over night. Checked in the morning and said full so went to start it and would crank but wouldn't start, thought it was a dead battery so replaced with new one (checked first and battery was dead), put new one in and.... wouldn't start turns over fine but not firing, thought the immobilizer stuck on key fob locks and unlocks fine, entered the EAK code with the drivers door turning as per manual got the 2 beeps of the horn so correct code and still wouldn't start. yes there is fuel in also.

    tried everything i can think of, the fuel pump whines (well you can hear it pressurize). also noticed that the M and S lights as well as the D on shifter still flashing. Anyone have any other ideas before i get it towed to the bush and set fire to it.... kidding at least tow it to a dealer or mechanic. Live in Canberra if anyone knows a good mechanic.

    I just dealt with a stuffed starter solenoid on our Defender.
    The CLICK you mention is the clue.
    Solenoid repair kits are sub $100 on Ebay and site sponsors.
    Its a mongrel of a job,have a search,if you are easy with the spanners its easy enough,to fix,its the install remove of the starter motor that causes grief.
    Now I have done one,when my D2 needs doing In going to try insitu on the hoist at work

    Got it sorted, it was the Crank angle Sensor.

    Mine is hard starting and stalling while driving, the boys at MR Automotive are resealing the injectors tomorrow so should be back up and running.
