    Unhappy Wining noise from td5

    Hi ya'all

I did a search on this but couldn't find anything.
Jumped in my discO this morning and noticed its making a wining noise and it gets louder with revs. Popped the hood and had a closer listen and as if it's coming from towards the front of the engine.

I had a look arOund but everything looked ok.
I'm usually a man of action but this one gave me a pause and a head scratch.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Thanks

    Belt tensioner?
Is it a high pitched squeal or squeak?

Naah, no squeaks or squeels. Definately doesn't sound like a slipping belt

Whining noise ? could be coming from the passenger seat ??

That the problem with the TD5 , there is nothing to push or prod to rev it while your trying to find a noise. Could be a loose / leaking exhaust manifold ??

No, it's a "wining" noise so it has something to do with booze!

Mine and another D2 I have driven whine around corners/roundabouts. It is engine-speed dependent so I figured it was the power steering pump.

From experience you'll know if it's ur pwr str pump, you'll also feel it through the wheel.
