Thread: D2 V8 will not rev/idle

OK so what's going on here....

This is the third post I have heard with these exact symptoms.... including mine. Coughing, rough idle and all fixed with a new MAF!

Also common theme is they have a reasonably new MAF.

Some bad fuel doing the rounds, a dodgy batch of aftermarket MAF from about 12 months ago.... Something in the air....

A MAF does not know what fuel looks like only air.

If you are saying that dodgy fuel is the cause then maybe, but usually the fix is a bit of metho in the tank or just getting it low and refilling.

More likely to be dodgy aftermarket MAFs if the new MAF fixes it, or maybe just dirty connectors! LOL. I clean my MAF and connector every 5KK even though my RRC runs o2 sensors which take over most of the MAF function.
