    D2 Heater Matrix Pipes

    Hi All

I have seen this question asked many times, but no really good answer.

I am using this method for removing my Heater Matrix
Heater core 1997 Disco.. DIY or Workshop ?

Where I am stuck is that I also want to remove the pipes as they seem to have serious calcium build up in the pipes which I want to clean, and I also want to make sure that they are not the cause of the leaks.

There seems to be a bracket that is holding them to the firewall that has a nut on the front that I have removed but seems to have 3 screws still holding it to the firewall.

I am guessing that there are 2 options, the whole clamp is held to the firewall by these 3 screws, or the clamp is held to the firewall by the nut/bolt and that the 3 screws just keep the clamp together as an integral unit and the whole unit and pipes can be slipped off the bolt.

Rave diagram is attached, but does not make it clear.

So before I damage it all or drive myself nuts does anyone know for sure what to do here

    Thanks

    Not possible

The link above works perfectly for a D2 as well, but it is not possible to get to those screws and release the pipes without taking the dashboard out.

So from my understanding, the short cut works fine for Matrix and/or O-ring replacement, for pipe removal, unless you are willing to cut the pipes, the dashboard needs to come out.
