    2004 D2a models

Were there any 2004 D2a SE or HSE models released?

There are SE and HSE models from 2003 but then there appears to be none from 2004!?

Wasn't it it just the classic Town or Country runout models available that year?

    I don't know, was it?

I know the Classic was the run out edition at the end of 2004 for the D2a.

I believe the Classic extras were added onto S models with various levels of equipment, like leather seats etc.

Does that mean for 2004 there were only S models and/or Classics?

There were 04MY HSE & SE variants, but not many as Aus market had to clear what became the classic models.
They are around but owners are hanging onto them because they were the last of the MY & top end variants.
They do pop up every once & a while but generally don't last long.
    Cheers & good luck.

    Thanks sniegy.

So there were SE and HSE from 2004, I've just never seen any then.

Was there an 04MY after the common 03MY update, and were there actually any changes made from 2003 to 2004?

The vehicle is the same as the 03MY, the only change was to remove the water in fuel sensor on the 04MY's.
I have noted on car sales that they mostly advertise the vehicle incorrectly, the VIN will tell you what model year it is.

The tenth digit tells you what MY the vehicle is regardless of when it was registered. Make sure you look for the 4 in that spot & even if it it registered in Oct/Nov/Dec the year before it is still an 04MY.

I nearly purchased an 04HSE from Sydney about 3 yrs ago, was Dark Blue & had the cream leather inside, factory nudge bar & about 100K Km's on it.
Very nice looking vehicle, was looked after very well.
The lady did not budge on price & I thought she was asking a little too much so walked away.
    Cheers

Not sure its as simple as Sneigy says. I always thought I had an MY03 but based on Sneigy's post on VINs, mine is an MY04. Mine is a base model (S?) and does have the water sensor.

    Mundy,
That's why the VIN is so important on these/all European vehicles. There are always changeover points throughout the VIN. Yours maybe!? An early 04MY & the sensor was still fitted?
Service wise we ONLY go by VIN.
Sales wise, sales people will always go by registration date, which in Australia could 3-4 months prior to the next model year.
Hence why you thought? That you have an 03MY, but if the VIN says 04MY, then it is an 04MY.
    Cheers

So you can have one with a BUILD date, that is the plate rivetted on the panel at the left front (on a D2),as being /03 for example, but the vehicle is MY 04?
Also i have seen a couple around with thicker looking roof rails, but haven't been able to get a good look at them. Are these the HSE MY 04 or 03?
