Thread: Removing XYZ Switch?

Mate, thought i'd seen somewhere the preferred option was to come in throgh the centre console....

Hi, Yes I did it a couple of weeks ago, looks hard but not too bad once you get into it. Just make sure you let the exhaust cool down first!
I was hoping for water ingress but mine looked brand new! Still trying to find the problem!!

seems a bit poor if you are doing a water crossing and the xyz switch gets wet.
Land Rover come back clause would be the switch is at the maximun fording depth, you exceeded it.

Yeah but I wonder what their excuse is for the A/C drain pouring all over it?! Must of been Friday arvo when they designed that one!

Well yesterday arvo in the garage just about to head to work,, M&S lights and limp, mode,,,borrow the wifes car and a 1am do the fix in the tutorial on here'.ALL GOOD NOW. This great forum appears to have saved me $600, gotta love it,, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Not simply requiring adjustment/repositioning is it?

They're a little awkward to get at but not really that difficult, maybe undoing and moving the exhaust aside would help.

In Land Rovers defence, they have modified the sealing/waterproofing on later switches so less chance of water ingress now.

Yeah it seems to be in the right position? The read out on the display matches the gear selection so I'm guessing it's right! I found a fellow aulro member with a hawkeye so going to see if that sheds some light...

My lights didn't reset until I fired up the engine, until then I thought my switch rebuild hadn't worked.
