    Brake Light Switch?

G'day all, hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My brake lights are on constantly as I was ever so pleasantly informed by another motorist yesterday.
I've had a quick look & if I put my foot under the brake pedal the lights go off so I'm assuming that maybe there's a spring attached to the pedal that may have stretched, not strong enough to return the pedal beyond the point that the brake lights are activated. Any help greatly appreciated, thanks in advance, Mat

The switch "auto-adjusts". What you need to do is find the arm from the switch that touches the brake pedal and pull it towards the pedal. You'll need to press the brake pedal so you can pull the switch arm out beyond where the pedal normally sits. It will probably need a firm yank - I ended up having to use pliers to get a decent grip - and it will ratchet out. Once you are done let the pedal go and the arm will be pushed back in to the point where the switch is just off.

I had the master cylinder replaced when I first bought my D2 and the mechanics had pushed the brake switch arm right back in the process.

    cheers

Fixed my brake light switch thismorning, thanks again Paul!
In addition, to make it a little more safe when pulling the switch out to confirm contact with the brake pedal arm, if u grip the rear of the switch it can be twisted a quarter turn clockwise I think it was ( will only go one way) then remove the entire switch assembly allowing u to see exactly what your doing with the pliers whilst holding the switch in one hand. Less chance of breaking the switch😊
    Cheers
    Mat
