I have a 2003 D2a TD5 auto with approx 180k on the clock. No real complaints. Yes like all cars some bits have had to be replaced, fuel cooler (I think, drivers side of the engine) and one of the plastic fuel hoses rubbed between the tank and body resulting in a fuel leak. I think it will soon be due for a seal on the auto output shaft.
I get the car serviced on milage as I don't drive really long distances as I live not far from work. I would not count all the consumables like disc rotors and pads, oils etc. I think that if you know that something is likely to need doing when it comes up it is not such an issue. Some people expect that their cars will run for ever on just oil and filter changes. I have been ok with regards to overheating and the original head gasket is still in place. I think that for a 200k plus car you should expect to have to do an overhaul on the auto and milage over 250k without an overhaul can be considered a bonus.
