Thread: Auto Trans Clunk When Selecting Reverse

Hi guys, I took off the left front wheel to check the brakes, which were fine, and when I went for a test drive I noticed that when selecting reverse, from park and neutral, there is a clunk noise. I doubt if the brakes have anything to do with it but it's the only thing I did at the time I noticed the clunk. I haven't checked the oil level but there are no leaks on the ground. It's a 2000 D2 with 300k on the clock. If it's a tranny overhaul required where is a good place in Perth to get it done?

Probably just the transfer case.
