Ouch, had mine go last year. Best price for genuine was from carkraft. (spelling?) postage was quick as well, easy job to do yourself to keep cost down. Pm if you want any tips.

How to replace the fuel pump:

    1. Get RAVE and find appropriate section
    2. Get a philips screw driver, a very sharp stanely knife, a hammer and a cold chisel.
    3. Empty loadspace
    4. Follow RAVE except -

    A. Instead of removing all the trim to lift the carpet, you can cut the carpet along the edge of the trim on the sides of the loadspace and then pry the end of the carpet out from under the strip along the door. Then simply roll the carpet towards the front of the car! If you ever had the car recalled for the chaffing fuel line issue this may already have been done by the dealer.

Refit is the reverse and you would never know it has been done.

    B. Once the carpets up and the access panel is up give the whole area around the fuel pump a clean before you undo any thing else

    C. Instead of using Land Rovers special tool to remove the lock ring on the pump, use the hammer and cold chisel to tap the lock ring free.

Note: You need to keep everything very clean so when you disconnect the fuel lines put some tape or something over the ends.

Be careful not to bend the arm on the fuel level float as it will give you dodgy fuel gauge readings.

    Good Luck

Ok Gday all put the newe fuel pump in tonight and took for a good drive, well what can i say but i thought she was fixed last time but she is even better now, when the sports button is pushed we have aperformance boost again, Deb and i discussed this and it has been quite a while since we have had such an improvement in performance when the button was pushed so is this a way of getting an inclination that the pump is on its way out.

Now for the people that are going to change there pumps over like i did be prepared for when you fit the new one you have to (well i did) exert a lot of presure to put that locking ring back on, i used a small block of wood that fit inside the ring so i could put it over it, then i used the fattest hammer handle i could find and used it to push the top of the fuel pum down so the lock ring could be screwed on, this is because the top section of the fuel pump is spring loaded to the base. Have fun and hint you can not do this part your self
