    Throttle Readings

    Hello,
    I have been having a sort of problem with slow reponse, tried lots of things yesterday I had the evo hooked up engine not running watching the throttle settings (voltages) I see when I plant my foot it is very slow to respond a is my throttle pedel stuffed ?? I would think it should be instant. My car is a TD5 2004 Classic 194,000 ks Anyone got any ideas please.

    That is quite normal for any scan tool. The term 'live data' is a bit of a misdemeanour. What you actually get is sampled. One reason is the processing time/data transfer rates etc involved by the ECM and the scanner, the second is if you actually got live data you would be unable to read it anyway. It would change thousands of times a second.

    The scan tool I use lets me select what live data I wish to view, the less I choose the faster the refresh rate.
    Also a scan tool is not the best tool for checking TPS and APPS response unless it has logged a code. Tooo slooow.
