    It has no centre diff lock , the diff has been pull apart and it's nacked, just debating whether to put standed diff back in or a locker of some sort

    Put a stronger center in - if you've busted a standard one you'll likely do another. There's a few options depending on whether you want a full locker or just the install & forget detroit/true-track style.

    Also investigate getting the CDL operating too - maybe you have an early D2 & the bits are already fitted so you just need the linkage .

    The CDL makes it easier on the driveline IMO.

    what scouse said, and your wasting your time putting in a cross axle locker without first having the cdl working/installed.

    I understand about March 2001 were the last to have the CDL in the transfer case but minus the linkage. You can check by looking on the top of the transfer case to see if there is a spigot with nothing on it just asking for a little lever and cable to get it working.

    Also check your axles, particularly next to the spline near the diff and just on the axle side of the flange at the wheel end. I'd expect with a diff failure like that in a D2 that the axles will be twisted and ready to let go also.
