Now it is the autobox ...

    Hello,
Having dramas again, I have a TD5 fitted a Ashcroft TC about 6 weeks ago. Got a stage2 remap makes the VNT spin, but he down side is the gearbox now thuds into the gears 1 and 2 not bad but going into 3rd with a shiver and thud. this is over 2200rpm under 2000rpm this it is quite smooth. Changing with the gear stick again quite smooth. With the Sport button on not to bad at all still there.
The MAF figures look good on the evo. With my old stage one map. file sort of drop out of gear and chatter at lower rpm.

    Getting a P1884 CAN Message MD_IND invalid (flag F_TL_MES).
    No other faults
Haven't done the stall test a little unsure the car has done 190,000ks 2004 TD5 Classic.
Could this be a TC problem or the gearbox on the way out ?
    Any info would be good
    Many Thanks

    Hello,
Just put my old my map.file back onthe ECU and everything a lot better a weak thud going into 3rd at full bore will have to contact where I got the map and see.
I think the autobox would be good for a for overhaul but later in the year to much going on right now.
The other way around it would be to do the MAF by-pass so it doesn't see so much air so the pressure would be less for the shift change. I might be off track here but the VNT really puts the boost out. I made a volt limiter for the MAF so i might try the next few days. But she really flies with the new map file.

Ian, have you tried resetting the autos ECM memory to see if it improves the shifts?

Yes re-set the adaptive values, really begining to think that something is wrong with the new TC now as no gearbox faults and it happens at the 2200rpm mark or over putting it in sport mode is better and then thumps only in 3rd holding the gear shift and shifting myself it is a bit easier still a bit of a jolt. I am taking to a Transmission place tomorrow to get a better idea whats going on with it.

Anyone bother to check what the codes relate to? I thought not.

The fault code indicates an engine torque measurement fault. That will be enough to cause shift problems.

Have you checked the EMS for codes?

    cheers

Yes have checked there is one that keeps coming back is the this one. As everybody does lots of ones there. Even before this happened.

Does this mean a new throttle sensor ?
I have been reading this about the gearbox fault but nobody is having shift problems due to it being there http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...n-fault-2.html

One thing that was done was a new crank sensor fitted could this be the problem?? giving bad readings ?? as this could be the engine speed fault ?? I didn't fit it can this be done incorrectly ? The MAF is showing correct readings have a spare no change.
