    Terrafirma D2 Alloy Beadlock Wheels

Just for information, Terrafirma now have alloy wheels and beadlocks for the D2.

    They are only 16x7 though.

Actually the non bead locked are 16x7 and the bead locked version are 16x8 which should keep everyone happy. Shame you can't run the bead locked ones on the street...

Lucky8 was showing them this morning on Facecrack

    Cheers

I wonder what the reason is for not allowing bead locks on the street.

I remember it had something to do with modifying the rims for weld on bead locks not being allowed, but now that you can buy manufactured bead lock rims what would be the issue?

Agreed, I've even seen dot approved bead locked wheels (US sites) for cars like the JEEP etc. AEV sell them but don't do stud patterns to suit Disco's..

I might have a chat to QLD transport and see what they say about the topic...

Got a link for them? I'm looking on Terrafirma RVS Wheel for Disco 2 / P38 | Alloy Wheels - Alloy Wheels Accessories for Land Rover Vehicles and it only mentions the 16 x 7 wheels?

With the RVS wheels are you having to put the ring lock set and bolts separately to the wheels (as it describes the wheels as 'beadlock ready') - Terrafirma Lock rings and bolt kit | Alloy Wheels - Alloy Wheels Accessories for Land Rover Vehicles ?

The standard rims are 16x7 add the beadlock and they work out at 16x8.

Hi all, new to this forum, just thought I would say hello and comment on beadlocks.
Beadlocks tend to come loose, should be checked daily for correct tension and results can be catastrophic if not fitted right. They are not a set and forget setup and as most people can't even manage to keep the right air pressure in their tyres then there is little hope of them maintaining beadlocks correctly.....hence illegal on the road. They are a pain to balance as well. They only capture the outside of the tyre, the inside is on a standard safety lip.
A much better option is the internal inflatable beadlocks which capture both inside and outside lips on the tyre. These are also legal for road use as the safety rim is not altered, except for another air valve.
    Cheers

hey guys, i was just flipping through the rave cd for d2 and came accross accessory fitting instructions for factory beadlocks. (Called Safety Bands and made by Tyron UK)

This might help persuade transport departments to allow the mod..
