To counteract heat soak after engine is turned off

Hi guys ... I've not seen this one on the forum before and and hoping you can help.
The Td5 had just returned home from a short drive, the air was on, turned off the ignition and the air-con fan continued to run.
Jumped back in, turned on the car, turned off the air-con, turned off the car and the fan stopped.
Any ideas???
Thanx

Normal? Really?
I've had the car for 60000kms and it's never happened before!

I discovered mine running the other day so I looked it up.
105C coolant temp after ign off
It does it when you switch off and the engine is hot.
It'll be worth checking that the radiator packs are clear of debris, mud etc.
Cheers

Sorry to revive an old thread ... thought it may be handy for someone else to know that if the fan is running after the ignition is switched off it's a sure sign that the coolant is low.

A coolant alarm is one of those items that's been on my list for some time ...

The fan never runs after turning off our Discovery II V8, even when at or over 115 degrees.
The workshop manual states that the fan will run after the temperature reaches 115 degrees.
