    An 02 most likely doesn’t.
As above, search is your friend.

You can fit the mechanism by getting either an older or newer transfer case nose. It can be fitted in situ as I have done it and there are how tos on the net. The US bloke,s one is good.

Like Strangy said, being an '02 most likely won't have the internals, nor the nose cone for it .. so it'll be an expensive-er mod than just a straight CDL linkage mod.
Brother's Td5 is an '02 and to be sure, I checked the top of the nose cone of the transfer case, which was totally smooth. ie. no external mechanism.

    Easy to do to check.
Under car, hand between TC and gearbox(his is an auto) slide hand up and above the side of the TC nose cone.
You should feel either a smooth top without any obstruction(no CDL mechanism at all) .. or you will feel the external mechanism section of the CDL parts(where the 10mm spanner can be used).
If you feel stuff it'll be a rounded triangular shaped plate with three nuts at each corner and a 'bolt' in the middle of it(then you have the internals)

So brother's '02 is the smooth non CDL internals TC box, but my '99 V8 part car has the mechanised top area .. So, one day it'll be a matter of pulling out the spares TC box, rebuild and fit to brothers TD5.

All these discos are giving me a heart attack!

A good write up is at www.discovery2.co.uk - lots of other hints and tips, too.
Sorry to bear bad news but, you need the front housing from a D2 or late Defender with the hi lo selector switch to tell the ECU what range its in.

    Hi All,

Is Ashcroft still the go-to for the linkage? I really need one however at $500 not including postage (hate to think what that will run me) it's a little steep.

If anyone has one or is wrecking a CDL car I'd love to buy!

    Cheers
