3 Amigos Hard fault. rear diff?

Hi everyone; a month ago my rear diff blew and required a full replacement. A few minutes before it went the three amigoes came on and after getting it fixed (not from a LR mechanic and probably doesnt have a code reader) the hard fault is still not gone. So my question is; is this hard fault a result of my previous diff woes but hasnt been cleared or could it be a whole new/different problem alltogether?

The 3 amigoes had always come up intermittently ever since Ive had it since March 2010. The previous owner whom was a relative said that LR said it was just an ABS modulator fault and didnt matter, just turn the car off and on and its all good.

I think I should just by a code reader and determine once and for all what it is and what needs to be fixed. The car drives fine with the amigoes but I hate seeing those lights.

    Thanks guys

The damage to your diff is independant of the 3 amigos. However, the mechanic could still be responsible for them, if he somehow damaged the speed sensors in the hub, or the associated wiring/connectors etc, while repairing the diff.
From your history, I would guess you need to do the option B modulator repair anyway.
Details of this can be found in 'the good oil' section of this site.
Firstly though, find someone with a nanocom or similar and have your faults read.
I'm sure there is an AULRO member close by that will help you out.
Good luck, the 3 amigos can be annoying, but 99% of the time, they are an easy fix.

If your out west I have a nanocom we can use to check and clear your codes.
I'll have it in the Disco for the Labour day weekend trip if anyone wants to hook it up.
Can't get it talk to the computor but it works for the basics in stand alone mode.
    Cheers, Kyle

Get your codes checked first. To mangle a well known saying "If all you have is 'Option B' every thing looks like a SVS fault."

Alien D2 is going to be much closer to you but if you fancy a trip to Brunswick I'm happy to hook up my Nanocom.
