I had a similar problem with my 2000/ D2, the problem was a stone hole/crack in the bottom sill under the widscreen this allowed water to penetate inside. Unfortunatley the water corroded the circuit system on the reverse of the main fuse holder under the dash on the drivers side causing shorts in the locking system subsequently burning out the unlock function just like yours and also the turn indicators were eratic .
The problem was finally identified with Landrover software, the fuse board had to be replaced and I think you will find that your doorlocks are also cactus, certainly not a cheap exercise to rectify.
However check your vehicle for water entry from around the windscreen area and any cracks in the sill or around that area. My advice would be to silicone those areas up real quick and have a look on EBay for replacement parts.

How fast does the red light on the dash flash when you push the fob button?
If it's falshing quick it indicates a flat fob battery.

I have changed my set up from one push drivers door, second push the rest to one for all doors.
    Maybe a setting has changed?
    Cheers, Kyle

    thanks guys for your reponse..
i did lock using my remote key and i did notice the red flashing light was very quick,it lasted a few minutes until it became settled and flashed every few seconds,if that means i need a new fob battery i will definatly have a look at it..but could you tell me where it is..
again thanks hopefully it will save me from a expensive repair bill which i cant afford at the moment.

The above is what mine does
The quick rate when locked is the security system setting.
The steady flash is the "secure" mode.
I understand if it flashs quick when unlocked it's a low fob battery.

The fob battery is a watch battery inside the key remote.
You access it by "spliting" the remote.

    Cheers,Kyle.

A rapid flash of the red security light on the dash is also an indicator that the alarm has activated. It will remain flashing rapidly until the ignition is turned to the 'on' position again.

Have you tried the trick of touching your key blade to your chin as you press the unlock button?

Doing that increases the strength of the signal, so if your doors work then it would point to a fob prob.
