Yep had the same issue.
Replaced the door actuator, sourcing part from UK for about 95AUD delivered (from memory).
Hey all,
seeing as though it looks like my engine related prolems have cleared up I thought I would tackle something that has been annoying me for a while.
The LEFT rear door has not been working for some time; it locks if i manually unlock it from the door handle but it does not open via my remote (only if I get in and open the door handle twice; one to unlock and one to open). I was thinking it may be the actuator (i think thats what its called) maybe just not having enough power or being worn out and just cant get it up. so it can lock/pull but not unlock/push. I have taken the door trim off and had a look the pins are fine going to the white thing (actuator?) that locks/unlocks the door. other than that malfunctioning I cant see what the problem could be?
Any body else experience this problem with just ONE door, i have heard of the whole side of a car not unlocking or locking because of damage to a CPU or something but this seems to be something in and of its own.
any help would be appreciated.

I have come to the conclusion its often the left rear door due to kids pulling the handle whislt you are remote opening the door. My kids (& wife) have clear insructions to not pull on the door handles until they hear the "all clear" so far no more faulty locks.
I think this is the tute that I used.

Well, SWMBO's door will now lock but not unlock with the fob on the 04 D2a TD5 auto (148K). (new car, her still learning to WAIT until ignition is off before opening door - she is usually half way through double handle opening when ignition goes off, so I suppose it's all my fault!)
I've just downloaded Urban Panzers "how to" for replacing the door lock assembly -ugh.
1 Is there anything else I can/should check before ordering a new front passenger assembly? I do have nanocom evo 2 and RAVE, but haven't yet had to get into the wide wonderful world (www) of diagnostics.
2 Assuming I won't get a decent price in OZ, anyone with a recently bought one/supply recommendations? (presumably ex UK). On the bright side, maybe I can justify an something extra for wee beastie to mitigate the transport costs - ummmmm!
cheers Gavin
Hi Gavin,
I suppose if you have the schematics you can remove the connector at the door actuator and measure the voltage when operating the lock/unlock switch. If you can see it change, then the actuator needs to be replaced.
This involves removing the door trim though.
Ninety nine times out of a hundred, the actuator will be the problem.
I hunted one down from the UK, delivered for around 100AUD. Ebay, I think.
If you search for the part number on Google UK, you should be able to find something reasonably priced.
The job of installing it is not as hard as it looks.
Cheers,
Biggin

Given I still can't access my Microcat purchased from "the shop", can anyone please confirm the part number for the following for my disco?
MY04 D2a (TD5 auto) - front passenger (LHS) door locking assembly.
It will be something like FQJ102900 - I can't tell if there is any difference between left passenger and right drivers doors.
Cheers Gavin
Gavin
I just used the number you posted and subtracted 10.

This is were I purchase nearly all my parts. I have bought the front LHS from these guys previously. You have to get the LHS as the RHS does not work. This latch holds the door closed.
Also finally found this for you. Should answer a lot of your questions.

Hi all. I have the same problem starting today with my 2003 td5 on the driver's door. I tried lubricating the links of the whole mechanism but didn't work. Considering the date (28-12-2012, 7:53 PM), does anybody know if I can get the actuator somewhere in Melbourne at a decent price? I don't really want to wait too long considering I have the time to change it now, but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it either. Thanks for any help.
