The seat bases are interchangable with the passenger side, should be available at wreckers etc
Over the last 12 months the fabric on my drivers seat has been getting thinner and thinner, also the "leather" on the side has gone a little and worse for wear. Probably because I sort of slide out of the seat(vertically challenged) when entering/exiting.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of where I track new seat base ???
I have looked at evilbay and they only want to sell me an entire seat for $$$ lots and only pairs.
I suppose the other question is how does one change this said seat fabric ???
I should say its a fabric seat not full leather and no I dont want/like the seat covers path.
Its a 01 D2.
Cheers and TIA Dazza

I've been keeping an eye out for mine for about 5 months now - the wreckers usually want to sell you an entire seat. I've been quoted $250 for a repair to the cloth and foam but it won't be an exact match.
It's a bit frustrating becuase you can seemingly buy a seat base replacemnet and cover for just about every other landrover out there through people like exmoor trim. The D2 just seems to have been overlooked but it's getting to that age where there's gotta be some demand for these things.
You can still buy the seat cushion covers new from LR for some colours/patterns. It will cost you around $250 from the UK. The part number is dependant on the trim but you should be able to find it in Microcat.
This is one example on the Britcar site:

a bit of a similar problem and also a little bit of a hi-jack......has anyone repaired the seat heaters ?(admitedly leather seats) I reckon one of the resistive wires has split and causes 'hot spots'tends to burn a hole in my RH cheek![]()
Dazza ... plug your VIN into Microcat and it will give you the build spec for your D2 ... paint colour & trim colour included.

Kev, Dazza,
The fabric colours for the seat cushion covers listed in Microcat don't seem to exactly match the trim colour scheme. My 2000 D2 shows as "Ash Smokestone" trim, however the cushion cover colours available are "Bahama Beige" and "Dark Smokestone". I'd have to assume that the Ash/Dark Smokestone were part of the same interior scheme.
cheers
Paul
Hi Kev I have tried that and all it comes up with is dark smokestone..
I dont think its "dark" as you have seen my interior and its a light grey.
I will PM you my VIN to see what you come up with, Kev.
Might have to drop down to LR in newcastle on the weekend and see if they can identify it positively, I looked at the link offtrack gave me to Britcar and the colour is the same but pattern is different.
I will keep on looking and see what happens but its definitely on the last legs and I dont want it stuffed.

Sorry wrong part # for your vehicle.
For 1A290237 to 2A999999 (in other words MY01 and MY02) correct part is HCA000020LPW
The one I linked above is for MY99 and MY00.
According to the Discovery Ultimate Buyers Guide interior trim options were changed every 2 years. Not sure if this means pattern also changed.
