ACE valve block hot plus many amigos!

    2000 td5 auto Ace sls @ 265000k
    Amigos.
Have had constant yellow ACE for a while, have ordered new ACE pressure transducer, hope this is the cure (probably not in view of recent events!)
Last few days: ABS and Hill Descent dash warning lights constant, plus Traction Control fairly constant, and CDL when Reverse selected. SRS constant, and Handbrake warning - intermittant. Some / most of these amigoes are incidental to the ACE problem.

That's seven Amigoes (The Magnificent Seven!) Is this a new record? (If so, it's one I don't want!)

    ACE valve block.
Today while servicing the auto box, I touched the bottom of the ACE valve block after a short test drive. It was hot to touch, such that it was painful after about 5 seconds. Also, the two bottom ACE fluid lines running to the front were hot, as was the ACE / PAS reservoir fluid. I haven't noticed this reservoir being hot before.

What can cause the ace valve block to overheat? Could my ACE pump on the way out? Can I disable the ACE system until fixed?

being a hydraulic circuit this will get hot to the touch and being a small oil bottle will not take long to get hot, give me an hour or so and I will go for a short spin then mearsure the temature of pump, valve block and resivior and let you know the temps of each

    SLS constant, and Handbrake intermittant.

That makes 7 Amigoes (The Magnificent Seven!)

    Now the ACE valve block.

Any ideas? Could my ACE pump on the way out?
Whyatts Automotive Geraldton, here I come! (Again - if I make it!)
You really need to get the codes for the SLABS and ACE ecu's checked otherwise you are just guessing.

There seems to be too many warning lights showing up for it to be the Amigos. I'd suspect a bad ground connection or possibly harness damage. If it's harness damage there is a chance that your ACE problem is caused by the damage.

There is a chassis harness that carries the rear ABS sensor, SLS height sensor and pump/valve , and ACE valve block and accelerometer wiring runs from three connectors on the engine side of the engine fuse box down to the drivers side chassis rail then along the top of the chassis rail. There a couple of spots in the engine bay where the harness could potentially rub. It's worth having a look to eliminate damage to this harness as the cause.

The other thing I'd do is check that the ground connections and 12V supplies to the SLABS and ACE ECU's are ok.

If you have a copy of RAVE the Circuit Diagram and Electrical Library pdfs will give you enough information to check the continuity of the wiring harness.

    cheers
    Paul

the valve block is 47 degrees
the pump came in at 67 degrees
the oil resivor came in at 62 degrees,

this was after a trip of about 6 K's I would expect a longer trip the valve block would be closer in temp to the others I seenothing wrong with these temps and working with hydraulic's as part of my job would not be concerned with these temps.

Will take another reading when I go for a longer trip

    Many thanks Stevo and Offtrack.
I don't think my temps are above yours, I took it for a fast "do-or-die" half hour run, and the temps are no different.
I'll see if the ACE constant yellow warning light extinguishes when I install the new pressure transducer, and go from there.

Offtrack, I think you are on the money with the wiring loom advice, makes sense. My dash is festooned like a Christmas tree (and it's only Easter!)

    I'll post a follow-up later.

Do a reasonable amount of research into the Amigoes ,,

I agree with Pedro, do the research first then go through the process of fault finding this will save you cash, I would also lean towards an electrical fault like a crook earth.

To many warning lights on at once and very unlikelyeverything would fail at the same time.
