1: after launching/recovering your boat, take it through a drive-through car was that has an underbody water blaster
2: tectyl/waxoyl/fisholene
Any recommendations for preventing/reducing rust on the underside of my D2a? It seems to have got a bit of corrosion as a result of being used to tow and launch my boat over summer...

Nothing like that nearby. Although I always spray the whole underneath off with a hose after washing the boat after using it.
Cheers, will look into them. Tectly seems pretty good with up to 5 years of protection - Valvoline Tectyl 506 Rust Preventative, 400g - Supercheap Auto Australia
Is fisholene same as Fish Oil? Any ideas where it can be purchased in larger sizes? Googling has people talking about using 4L's on the udnerside of 4WDs, but I'm not seeing any sellers of the product.
Underneath use Tectyl 506,is very thick, stays on well, except in areas that cop sand etc being flicked up by the wheels. These areas have to be redone regularly.
Have also used fisholine,is very watery but takes well to places that have rust ,seems to seal it so it doesn't rust anymore, although you often have to put on numerous coats over a period of time.
My D2a had very little rust after numerous beach trips.Radiator support mounts needed fisholine,as did under the battery.Tectyl fixed up the underneath.Rear shock lower supports had to be redone regularly,as they are continually sand blasted buy beach sand.
The original paint on the chassis, etc was well done on the D2a.
The Puma is the opposite,VERY poorly painted, needs continual attention if it goes anywhere near the beach.
Tecty comes in 4l containers, also from autobarn.I wouldn't waste money on the Tectyl spray pack.
THanks, I'm not really doing much sand driving, so shouldn't have an issue with sand flicking it off. Yesterday when I was checking the oil levels I noticed that a lot of the bolts are showing signs of corrosion, so it's things like that which I would like to protect/prevent.
Lanolin based products?
great results protecting boat trailers etc

(I have no connection with the product manufactures and/or selling agents).
From my exprerience it stops corrosion dead and continues to protect for long periods after application.
particularly good for battery terminals and any type elec connections
X 2 for lanolin. I spray it inside chassis rails.
