    D2 Questions

    Hi All,
    You may have seen my 2 door for sale in markets?? (buy it!) which I am selling as its too good to take offroad so useless to me.
    I am looking at a D2 V8 Disco or P38 but I have questions
    1. Most D2 V8's have 180,000 - 250,000ks on them is this when liner problem is at its prime to rear its head or does it happen earlier or later or when it feels like it.
    2. Is it a if or a when concerning liners?
    3. Do all the update 2002 MY03 onwards have the CDL or is it a 04 thing?
    4. I would use it every couple of weeks thats it so is it worth spending extra on TD5 if its more reliable? or not?

    I had a look through and may be asking old questions but could not find the answers I was after.

    Hi mate,
    fuelling a V8 disco is expensive but the cost is reduced if it has been converted to gas, if you look around you will see that you can buy d2 with gas for not much more than a straight petrol. TD5 would be better if you are continually driving long distances or remote areas. In terms of reliability both engines have their issues, as general rule a well serviced vehicle should be more reliable. Not too sure about the liners, mine has done 178ks and no dramas yet (touch wood).
