Recently been losing water but as we vary rarely drive more than a trip of 20k it has taken me a while to work out where the loss was occurring and initially put the water puddle under the car down to the A/C until I realised I was losing fluid.
Not sure what it is called but there is a 10mm pipe running between the engine block and the radiator just under the plastic cover and the leak was coming from there.
Being Easter I loaded up with water and thought about putting some tape around the leak to see if that was the only place I was losing water from.
Gently eased the pipe upwards to wrap the tape around and snap it broke, called out the RAC and he rocked up and said the pipe was heat effected and in his opinion it was unsuitable for the high temperatures in Broome.
He attempted to join the pipe with some pipe he had and in the process the pipe again broke, at that point we decided to call a halt.
The Disco is now to be towed to a local garage to get fixed.
Has anyone else had this problem with heat effecting pipework, I also noticed a lot exposed wire cableforms that previously had cable covers which have broken down in the engine bay, presumably due to the heat.
Also any idea of the likely cost of replacement piping.
There is no Landrover Agent in Broome so in the hands of the local mechanics.

If its the PITA "pipe" that goes from the radiator (passenger side) under the top radiator cover to the surge/overflow tank, mine broken and I have replaced it with 3 core heater hose about 2.5 meters long.
Cost about $10 from repco including 2x hose clamps.
I suspect several others have as well.

get them to replace every bit of that pipe they can find,it will all be the same,if it is the one from the rad as mentioned tell them to be very carefull with the radiator fitting,

this might be a fix had same problem with wifes 2004 d2 the 4 way plastic pipe junction near water pump broke whan replacing water pump and 3way plastic pipe junction broke on top of radiator brought 30 dollars of scrap stainless steel and tig up the pipes had no problems or leaks since if can will try to post pics

I replaced it with power steering return hose, been on for a year or so now.
Hi, when you say "water loss" I hope you are referring to "coolant" loss. If you are only using straight water, then it will start corrosion in the plumbing system.
Wrong terminology, but for short while there would only have been water while I was topping it up
