From looking at my knackered drivers seat I've noticed that there are(were in the case of mine) Plastic u channels under the front and at the sides of the cushion cover that go over some steel sections on the seat frame to keep it all in place. There may be one at the rear of the squab but Imassume that once all these are released it's just a case of lift the squab off the frame and replace.

As Pedro says the process is fully detailed in RAVE.

New cushion foam is still available from LR.

    Hi Nicky,
I know it's a while ago but how did you get on? I'd like to swap over the 2 front seat cushions - passenger only used a dozen or so times in the 13 years I've had it so it's in pretty good nick. I read RAVE a couple of times but maybe best left to an expert.
    Anyone else with any advice?
    Many thanks.

Good timing on this thread, my foam has crapped itself on the RH side bolster from getting in and out, was going to pull mine out this weekend and look at doing exactly the same thing.

I changed mine over about 6 months ago. Yes the seat bases are the same.

My drivers side was trashed so I sourced a complete LH seat out of a wreck same material pattern (took about 6 months to find one).

It took about an hour to do.

Slide the seat all the way forward.

Use a set of pliers and from the rear of the seat there is two (one each side) little metal clips slip these off.

Remove the seat side panel with a x tip screw driver.

The hardest part now is removing the plastic trim that will now be visable the width of the seat, I used a long thin screwdriver to lever this off. (this took a bit, and be carefull not to break it, it has little retainers you will find)

Once thats off tilt the seat to the rear a little ( bit more than driving position) and from the rear poke the rear fabric up thru the seat.

That plastic trim I spoke of is on all 4 sides.

So with the seat side trim off remove that one and you will have enough "fabric" loose to pop the front and the transmission tunnel one off ( a bit of weight on the seat side helped).

Once off check under the seat for a electrical connector for the seatbelt just unclip.

You can then just lift the whole seat cushion off.
I found my seat fabric (squab) was attached to the cushion but I was replacing the whole thing as it was knackered.

Rinse and repeat for the other and then the reverse to put them back in.

Took me about a week of driving to get used to not having a sagged seat with the extra height, looks smick as no more drivers side wear part for the next 300 thou ...
