    Key Remote Reciever

D2 2001 Dec Td5 I have two new uncut keys that are not recognised when I do the RF test with the Nanocom I am thinking that the frequency of the key remotes maybe different to the receiver. I have found info on the 315 & 433 Mhz issues, but nothing on the receiver. Thought I would check the receiver label if 315 Mhz I could upgrade it to the 433. I have removed the courtesy light, both of the D pillar surrounds and the rear door frame trim, pulled down the roof lining but cannot see the receiver. Am I looking in the right place, we're they fitted anywhere else? Thanks Ollie

Why didn't you buy the correct frequency in the first place?
A lot less stuffing around.I believe they are 433Mhz for your year

    To quote RAVE:

"...receiver located in front of rear sunroof beneath the headlining."

Or where the rear sunroof would be if you had one I suppose.

Thanks BigginI removed the side D trims fully and found the reciever inline with the B pillars slightly off center toward the passenger side. Using a mirror I was able to read and verify the frequency was 433mhz. The keys were supplied as 433Mhz so this was the reason to check the receiver frequency if it had been a 315 it would show a reason for the keys not working and A reason to upgrade the receiver to 433. I followed the Nanocom instruction to add new keys without success, I will check the frequency of the key before I return them. I'll let you know how it goes Thanks

Previously I have experienced the nanocom not able to program a key and therefore took it to a mechanic with testbook and it worked fine.

People also suggest it should be the CWE100680KIT key but I have successfully programmed a CWE100690KIT key to a D2 (with Testbook). Both are 433 MHz.

    Try a mechanic with Testbook.

    Andrew
