Thread: loss of power after overheating

hi all,
my disco2 v8 99 model burst a hose ( thermo to pump ) last week and overheated. i have done the repair and now it seems it has lost some power when given throtle? and at the same time has a bit of engine noise, the engine noise does not sound serious, just a little like a deisel engine if that makes any sense.
car is running fine otherwise, at low rev ect...

thoughts anybody ( b4 i aproach the mechanic )?

Likely as not you have blown a head gasket. Do a compression check first.
