If it's a 2003 it will be a D2a and should have the cdl fitted
2003 Disco 2 diesel auto 7 seat S model. 150,000km. Very clean car with no issues. A friend(old timer) of a reliable mate bought it privately for $12,000 a year ago. Says I can have it in 3 months for a bit less than $12,000. No CDL. I've replaced an LT230 on my 110 before. Almost feel it would be easy to drop a new transfer case in an do a solenoid job or similar. Easy job? Opinions on price and CDL conversion appreciated.

CDL internals went missing towards the end of MY2001 (April-may 2001 is the cut off). MY2002 didn't have CdL internals. MY2003 & 2004 had internals and lever as standard in Aus.
Cdl was an option on 2003 in the uk & us.
You are confusing the centre diff-lock with traction control, these are two different features. If it is a 2003 it will have both., but check the features on the vehicle itself and it's year of manufacture.
Is this truck being sold because does not have a centre diff-lock mechanism and cockpit lever? Be careful!
2003 D2a Auto TD5 good Landy gone
2015 D4 probably the most amazing yet, why get a RR?
So without getting too confused am I right to say the TC will have the internals but not the in car actuator? Silly me never had a good look at the lever but I'm sure I only noticed the high low forward/backward motion, no side to side. If the lever is non existant but the TC has the internals I will still be very happy.
If it is an update it will have a fully functional cdl, are you sure it is an update?
The most obvious identifying factor is the front headlights, but there are other differences as well
