    What is this?

Can't find any reference to this on RAVE, and it seems to have no function. (hope the pictures work) if not, its 2 steel discs about 70mm diameter and 15-20mm thick attached to one side of the rear diff nose with a cable leading to the watts linkage centre pivot bolt. Hope someone can demystify it for me.

The idea I believe was to create a vibration of a known frequency and then cancel it out by using a certain weight added in a certain place to cancel the known harmonic vibration, thereby restoring the equilibrium of the system...

Certainly seems to not work on some D1's especially the early 1994/5 Tdi manuls, some of which I have driven seem to have more intrusive NVH than my Isuzu 110
