Yeah was thinking of the intercooler having a lot of oil in it as I have never flushed it out but I have had no dramas until now. Maybe the vnt moves more air through and has stirred things up but i am thinking something else is the issue.

    cheers

[QUOTE=twr7cx;1677304]This evening I have finished the installation of my VNT from BAS. Took an hour to remove the standard turbo and about 6-7 hours to fit the VNT after that (first time for me working on the TD5 turbo)...

What's the $$$ damage for one of these? Have thought about one of these since I got the camper trailer.

    Cheers,

    Mike

About $1,500.00 delivered by the time you pay the import taxes and fees.

    MAF bypass and/or MAF upgrade?

Hi guys, just found this thread when trying to solve my boost limit issues with my BAS VNT on my 03 Disco TD5 auto, fitted by Justin C earlier this year.
We just idid the MAF bypass with 19mm pipe with immediate success. Goes like stink, no stutter or fuel limiting. Auto shifts better too.

Used T piece where oil vapour pipe enters air inlet.

Alive Tuning can't supply upgraded MAF for a while. But do I need it as well is the thing? Any ideas? Bit concerned that the fueling (BAS custom map) is not properly managed if the MAF is bypassed. EGTs seem a bit higher under max load.

    Cheers

Interesting. I run the Alive Tuning Boost Box and their uprated MAF, I have absolutely no issues now with cutting out and limiters. Prior to installing their MAF I did have issues with the limiter.

Very keen to see this setup!

Probably not, you probably only need one or the other as the TD5Alive/Alive Tuning MAF sensor is meant to be used without the bypass.

Speak to BAS. They advise to do the MAF bypass, so I would assume their tunes would be done with this in mind or that they should be willing to adjust the tune to suit.
