    Exclamation Me or engine issues?

    Hi guys

Driving my D2 this evening, noticed that it seemed to hiccup slightly holding it at around 50km/h
Dad had been driving it before, said he didn't notice it
I WAS wearing rather large boots which make it difficult to be ahhh.....hmm...delicate?... with the accelerator...
Is my engine having the occasional cough or is it just me and my clunky boots?

    Cheers

EDIT-NEVER noticed anything like this before-EDIT

Go for another drive .... take clunky boots & comfy driving shoes .... drive the same peice of road several times in each footwear .... result ??

Personally, I HATE driving in my steel caps ... always prefer volleys, then change into steelies when we arrive at camp, etc ...

Exactly my plan. And yeah, i wear connies when i'm driving
Didn't do it with cruise control on so im thinking it might be the boots.
It DID seem to be idling a bit quicker than normal....Perhaps this could be linked? brass monkey cold out tonight as well...
Hopefully its not oil in the ECU wiring...

    Cheers

Still doing it. Seems the rev count really fluctuates noticeably around 1500-2000 revs if you're holding it on the accelerator.
When i first take off and around 90km/h i can hear the sound of running fluids from what seems like the front drivers side wheel arch.
    Fuel filter issues?
could a dodgy lot of fuel do this?
    Any suggestions?

    Cheers.

V8 or diesel? Could be early MAF issues.

If it's not doing it when cruise is engaged, maybe the TPS is wearing out ... as it's around that engine speed / throttle position you'd be at for normal driving ... and the TPS will eventually wear. Get the TPS voltages checked using a Nanocom or similar ...

The higher idle when cold is normal ... colder it is, higher the idle until engine warms up a bit.

Sure the "running fluids" sound isn't coming from the heater matrix up under the dash ? ... we all know what that means. There's no fluids in the rhs guard area.

    @ Clubagreenie it's the Td5

@ fluids it just seemed like it was in that area when i heard it, could be from under the dash. what does that indicate?
And what exactly is the tps? Where would i be able to get it checked out?

    Cheers

Gurgling water sounds from under the dash usually point to combustion gases being introduced into the cooling system due to the early onset of a head gasket failure. This would usually lead to coolant loss out the header tank ... or down the exhaust. Keep an eye on coolant levels.

TPS is Throttle Position Sensor ... it's a drive-by-wire system where the throttle pedal controls voltage signals sent to the Td5 engine ECU ... like turning a knob on your radio up/down to change the volume ... the device is just a rotary variablr resistor ... 2 wire system on early D2's and 3 wire on later D2a's ... find an AULRO member with diagnostic gear, or a LR specialist to get it checked.

    That doesn't exactly sound positive...
What sort of price would i be looking at for a new head gasket?
Any other possible explanations? would it be able to be heard from both sides of the cab? cos this was really only noticeable right hand side...
