    benefits of front and rear diff locks and CDL

    Hi all,
    I was just wondering the benefits and cons of front and rear difflocks on a d2 already fitted with a CDL? I assume theyre has to be some benefit but is it value for money? should/would i have to upgrade the axles, cv's etc. I dont plan on going crazy with tyres, just want 265/70/16 (because the 75's rub, no offsets (in the mean time), prop shafts? Ive ordered a front tom woods DC prop shaft from Lucky8 and just waiting to arrive and install.
    If you're wondering why I'm asking its because after about 2.5 years of D2 ownership I have done most of what I want to do to the car and looking for further modifications to feed my addiction .
    I'm also toying with the idea of altering the exhaust somewhere/somehow; but thats for another time and another thread.

    Difflocks will transform your vehicle in tricky offroad conditions. All of the manufacturers will tell you that their difflocks are the best. My ARB's have been faultless and local support if needed is 2nd to none.

    I would recommend Ashcroft front axles and CV's and rear HD axles also - probably also Ashcroft.

    Difflocks are good and usually moderately inexpensive... HOWEVER... using them without upgrading the other cheese in the system is kind of pointless a triple locked landy with a snapped front and rear axle is in the same amount of hurt as an unlocked landy in most cases.

    I prefer a soft locker when fitting up a vehicle with TC primarily as it prevents the occurrence of windup which can make life hard on other vehicle components. They also dont rely on any external control and will continue to offer an advantage even if all the electrics go west or you tear off all the lines to the axle. Soft lockers also maintain steerability when they are working (well moreso than a locker proper) BUT certain combinations in certain situations can create interesting noises and handling.
