    D2a grille onto D2

Hi all, can you fit a D2a grille onto a D2? I have noticed the grille off a D2a does not have slots cut into the sides for the panel below the headlights to slide into like the D2 grille has. I have the older style headlights. So how does the D2a headlight finishers attach to the grille??? One end screws into the mudguard the other slides into the lower part of the grille in the D2. What is the set up for the D2a. Do I need the newer D2a headlights to fit the newer grille. Thx

The D2a grill is a standalone unit, two locating pins on the bottom and 3 push pins across the top to hold it in place. Takes about 2 minutes to remove, no association with the headlights other than having to remove it to remove the headlights. Don't know anything about the D2 headlight setup so would not like to comment on whether they are interchangeable.

    Cheers,

    Peter.

The d2 also has two lower pins that sit into rubber grommets in the support panel. The top sits over the radiator panel and also has three plugs with push in/screw out centre pins.

The standard grille (AWR3633LML) is the early unit, the mesh grille (saudi is also listed only for early D2's (DHB102660LML). The finishers are also listed only for early models. My parts book only goes to 2003 but I have a list for later stuff and it's different early to late.
