    D2 Power Steering Pump....

Hi all, found a pool of PAS oil on the floor below the pump and again after topping up the reservoir so assume either the hoses have perished or the pump's dead. Safe to assume a simple investigation on any other car, I've just changed my plug leads behind the block - dear god! whomever ?

Can anyone tell me the best way to get at the pump, check it's not the hoses, and where to buy another pump if it is ?

    cheers n'beers.

Clean both hoses on the pump and around where they go into the pump with a rag or two. I suspect that you have a bung hose because if the pump were to have a leak, it would be behind the pulley, spraying power steering fluid everywhere.

Start the truck up and crawl underneath with a torch and look at those hoses.

If it's a TD5 one of the powersteering hoses can rub on the front corner of the sump.

A little add on for the above...
You may have to get an assistant to turn the steering slightly so the preasure in the hoses increases.
    Cheers, Kyle

The best place to get a TD5 powersteering pump I found was my local Land Rover main dealer. I bought one last year for a Disco and it was $60 cheaper than anywhere else I tried.
